“A child miseducated is a child lost,” says John F. Kennedy. We are aware that the ones who will educate our children are the ones shaping our future. We live in a world where rapid developments have changed the nature of knowledge and information. We are global citizens now, and we need to follow the updates all over the world. Since English is a lingua franca, any language that is widely used as a means of communication among speakers of other languages, it is crucial to have a good command of the language in order to follow the new trends. Our aim in forming this book is to help young child development professionals to be able to follow what is going on in their fields around the world. This book is significant because there is no other English book addressing the specific needs of a child development specialist. We hope this book will enable our professionals to read scientific books and articles in their field and have a good knowledge of terminology. As Walt Disney says, “We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things because we are curious,… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” We dedicate this book to those who look for new paths and need English in this way.
